Ready to Fence?

Whether you’re thinking of trying fencing for the first time, or an existing fencer looking for a club to join, we would love you to drop in to one of our training sessions and see what we’re all about.

For beginners, the best time to visit is at the beginning of school terms, or at one of the special events or classes listed below.

Term 3 Classes for Beginners

PLEASE NOTE: If you are a beginner aged 10+ and want to fence on Saturdays in term 3, make sure you get to a training session by Saturday 4th August!  After this date we will not be accepting more beginners to the Saturday session until Term 4.

Saturdays in Nunawading From July 21st:
9:30am-10:30am, (ages 7-10) Swordplay Sabre
9:30am-10:30am, (ages 10+)  Novice Sabre, followed by joining the open training.

Tuesdays From July 17th:
7pm-8pm, Junior Training in Mitcham. Suitable for anyone who isn’t allowed to stay up as late as 9pm (aprox ages 7-12).  Beginners welcome any time.
7:30pm-9pm, (ages 10+)  Sabre Squad, incorporating beginners, in Mitcham.

Thursdays  From July 19th:
4:30pm- 5:30pm, (ages 7-12) After-School Class, Vermont South Sportlink.  2 spaces left, class closed to new beginners from August 2nd.

6:30pm– Junior Epee, 7:30pm – Senior Epee, Olinda Community Hall
Beginners aged 9+ welcome at any time!


School Holiday Activities

Saturday September 29th – Epee Fencing for Adults

10am – 12pm, Nunawading Community Centre

$10 per person, this session is for ages 16+.  You will be introduced to fencing with the Epee, and have a chance to test your new skills on the electrical scoring apparatus.  No experience necessary, all equipment provided.

Saturday October 6th – Fencing Open Day

10am – 12pm, Nunawading Community Centre

Join us for a fun (and free) introductory session and find out more about the sport. Suitable for ages 7+, including adults.  All equipment provided.
